We will focus on API testing and learning the basics that will enable you to further work in this field. You will learn what REST API is and how to effectively create and analyze requests using Postman. These skills will provide you with the necessary knowledge to start testing REST API, opening new opportunities in the technology industry. 17:00-17:30 a short history and a dose of theory to organize:
- what is REST API
- basics of API testing (practical examples)
- response codes, types of authorization
17:30-18:15 practical exercise with Open source API using public API:
- importing collections into Postman
- sending GET requests, checking responses
- explaining tabs: params, authorization, headers, body, tests
18:15-18:45 snack break and reset in the kitchen
18:45-19:30 practical exercise in API testing:
- building queries, analyzing responses
- preparing automatic assertions for test verification
19:30-19:45 closing + informal discussions
