Fundacja Girls Code Fun Receives Motorola Solutions Foundation Grant
Fundacja Girls Code Fun, whose aim is to develop digital competences among women and girls, today announced it has received a grant  from the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions. Through this grant, Girls Code Fun will implement the 4th edition of an educational project for 40 teenage girls from Warsaw – STEAM Academy.

“This support is of great importance to us. STEAM Academy has already become a permanent part of the educational map of Warsaw. High school students are waiting for the program in the hope that their digital competences will develop significantly in the upcoming school year” – Anna Osowska, Program Director.

As part of the grant, we will implement as many as 6 subjects in the field of new technologies. We will support weekend learning with webinars and a mentoring process, which is crucial for teenage girls to gain self-confidence in learning technology.

The Motorola Solutions Foundation, which has donated more than $100 million over the past 10 years, focuses its giving on three key areas: first responder programming, technology and engineering education and programs that blend the two. The Foundation has a long-standing commitment to supporting programs that benefit underrepresented and underserved populations and aims to partner with organizations that align to its values of accountability, innovation, impact, diversity and inclusion.

“Every day Girls Code Fun makes a meaningful difference within the community, and the Motorola Solutions Foundation is honored to partner with them as they continue to expand their impact,” said Karem Pérez, vice president of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and executive director of the Motorola Solutions Foundation. “We are incredibly proud of [Your organization], the programs they have brought to life and the individuals they have positively affected.”

About Girls Code Fun
Our mission is to motivate and encourage girls and women to acquire knowledge in the field of new technologies. Our mentors teach computer programming and pass on skills that enable success and a better understanding of the modern world dominated by new technologies. The results of analyses show that the participation of women in the dynamically developing sector of new technologies is low. Looking at the labor market, it is important to educate in this direction so that there are no shortages of staff. Noticing the disproportions in education and employment, we support women in entering the world of IT.
