About the project

Present edition: 17

Girls Code Fun & Znany Lekarz FUN LAB Radom is a long-term educational and development project for children. The workshops have been held in Radom since 2018 and offer a valuable technological experience for the youngest participants. We accompany them from an early age in learning programming. Under the guidance of instructors, we run Scratch workshops as well as LEGO workshops.

We are currently recruiting for the 17th edition of the project. We are opening 2 groups at the facility on Śniadeckich Street: a beginner group and an advanced group. The program kicks off in October and will run until the end of the year, teaching programming throughout.

For whom?

The project is dedicated to children aged 6–13 who attend community centers providing educational support and recreational activities. We support children potentially at risk of social exclusion. So far, we have collaborated with the ARKA center on Chrobrego Street, the Jordan Garden on Śniadeckich Street, and the Bajka center on Rapackiego Street.

What do we teach children?

We accompany them from the early years of education. We show that technology is friendly and developmental – we teach how to create it, not just passively consume it. We demonstrate that technology can serve us if we use it skillfully and actively.

During the workshops, children create their first animations and games on their own. We show them that they have power, that they have agency.

What skills do we build?

Education is much more than just programming. We focus on social development and values that are often overlooked in traditional schools. Our in-person classes are a space for building connections and growing together, not only time spent in front of a computer. We take a holistic approach to participants – we talk with them, recognize their needs, and support their journey. We teach, but above all, we listen. This way, we create a true partnership in the learning process.
