Dominika Wieczorek
Aspiring Salesforce administrator, sales specialist (Grabówka, Podlaskie province)
I am a mother of two energetic sons and I am passionate about developing my new career path. For more than five years I worked as a Territory Executive at Philip Morris, where I honed my skills in sales, teamwork and business relationship building. Thanks to my sales experience in various industries, I am able to find my way in demanding work environments. I am currently redefining my career and am ready for new challenges that will allow me to combine professionalism with the values I value in my personal and professional life. My focus has been on technology, more specifically working with a CRM platform (Salesforce) that supports customer relationship management, sales, marketing and customer service. I recently earned my Salesforce Associate certification, which was an important step in my professional journey. Now I am intensively preparing for further certifications, with the goal of becoming a Salesforce Administrator in the future. In my free time, I explore new technologies and ways to increase my work efficiency. I love spending time actively, discovering new places and flavors.
What prompted you to take part in the Girls Code Fun Foundation project?
Each project promised to bring a wealth of knowledge and valuable experience, and the Foundation supports women in the re-branding process. I got what I expected. For me, it was not only a chance to grow, but also a way to find the right path in the IT world. As a young mom thinking about doing a professional twist in retrospect, I know that I couldn’t have come at a better time.
What skills did you gain in the projects, and there were several, and how do you use them?
Oh yes, I had the chance to benefit from more than one project. In the Code Her Future program, I learned the basics of front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end (Python, API), which allowed me to create my own website and weather app. Through mentoring sessions and online courses (cybersecurity, data science), I better understood my strengths and chose a direction that I am developing both professionally and as a passion. At work, I find the skills I learned in Salesforce and leadership workshops particularly useful – I use them in the process of rebranding and building a career in IT.
“The mentor believed in me. And because of that, I believed in myself.”
The biggest challenges you’ve faced?
The hardest part was balancing my studies with my daily responsibilities – especially as a mother of two sons. However, I knew that if I wanted to achieve my goals, I had to be consistent. Time organization and motivation to study were key.
As part of Code Her Future, you received mentoring support. What did it give you?
This was my first experience in mentoring. I had not been a mentee or mentor before. I worked with a wonderful woman with whom I still keep in touch today. Her support, knowledge and experience were invaluable to me – she helped me take my first steps in IT and find my career path. She believed in me. And I believed in myself.
Your biggest success story?
The word success is very strong, but for it I consider the discovery of a new professional direction that has opened up many opportunities for me. I also met fantastic people in the industry, and these contacts will certainly pay off in the future. I am a green-yellow energy, I love contact with people, so I also mention the human aspect.
What are your plans for the future in terms of what you have gained from the Foundation?
Plans can be real, how much faith we put in their realization. I did have faith. Today I definitely feel more confident in my skills in IT and technology. The program not only allowed me to clearly define the direction of my development, but also reassured me that I am on the right path. Therefore, my plans today are to certify as a Salesforce Administrator. This will open more doors for me in the industry.
Any advice or suggestion for other women who are considering whether to use support with us?
Yes. Taking the time to develop at the Foundation is not just about completing courses – it’s a real opportunity for growth and career change. If you want to get into IT, Girls Code Fun will help you find the right direction. I know this from experience. And if you don’t try, you won’t find out. In my example – participation in these several projects had a key impact on my re-branding and the discovery of a new professional path that I want to develop and pursue in the future. I fell in love with technology and it became an integral part of my professional and daily life. I wish your story was even more positive than mine!
