Can Technology Be Creative?
Current edition: 18th Scratch summer day camp – 2026
Can technology be a safe, creative, and developmental environment for a child? At Girls Code Fun, we show that it can. Instead of aimless screen time, we offer the youngest residents of Radom a summer full of active education, experiments, and great fun.
This year, once again, we are joining forces as part of GCG & ZL Fun Lab Radom to create a unique space where technology becomes a friend, not a threat. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, we are organizing inspiring Scratch programming day camps.
Our project has become a permanent part of the educational landscape. We have already trained around 400 children, and each of them has gained confidence in the digital world, developed logical thinking, and discovered that programming can be a fascinating adventure. This summer is another step in building a strong technology community in the region.
For whom?
We invite children aged 7-12 who are supported by ARKA, a sociotherapeutic day-care center in Radom that provides support, education, and a safe space for play.
In July 2026, 30 children will join the group of almost 400 children who have already gained digital skills through the project. We will work in two groups to ensure comfort and individual support for every participant.
What will children learn?
In a safe and supportive way, we make coding feel approachable. Participants do not learn dry theory. Instead, together we create original games and animations, giving children space to express their creativity.
The program is designed to spark curiosity, develop teamwork, and guide participants toward creating their own game in Scratch.
Why is digital education important from an early age?
We live in a world where technology surrounds us at every turn. However, the mere presence of smartphones in children’s hands does not mean they know how to use them wisely. Statistics show real challenges.
Consumption vs. creation: According to recent reports, early school-age children can spend several hours a day in front of screens, while educational content accounts for only 1% of that time.
Future labor market: It is estimated that more than 60% of children starting school today will work in jobs that do not yet exist. Understanding the basics of programming logic is the language of the future.
The need for wise guidance: Eurostat data shows that although regular internet use in Poland is growing rapidly, nearly 40% of users still lack sufficient digital skills to navigate the digital world safely and productively.
At Girls Code Fun, we are changing these proportions. We show that technology is a tool for active creation, not just passive consumption.
