Programming with Girls Code Fun Foundation? We invite you to read more!
The Girls Code Fun Lab & Znany Lekarz workshop in Radom is a continuation of our already flagship educational project for the youngest. We teach children programming. We have been implementing it since 2018 and have collectively taught programming in Scratch to more than 300 children. The vast majority of participants loved the technology. Parents, on the other hand, understood that their kids can create it on their own, and not just passively use it. It’s a game changer in children’s perception of tablet or phone use. I promote learning technology, not passively looking at screens. With this GCF Lab & ZL project, we show that it can be done!
For who?
The project is for children aged 6-13. Implemented for a specific group. These are the charges and wards of the day care center – Jordanowski Garden in Radom. Girls Code Fun Foundation trains almost 30 children in the 14th edition.
What do we teach children?
We familiarize the youngest with the idea of programming. We start learning in an intuitive and pleasant working environment – in Scratch. This is a popular program that is available free of charge to any user. Children can use it independently, but parents can also build their own characters and games together with them, without programming knowledge. Programming is a crusial competence in technology world, but with Girls Code Fun seems to be a great journey.
