About the workshop

The glories and shadows of data analysis is a practical, but definitely customized workshop that will take you into the world of corporate data analysis. Using a concrete example, you will see how to approach a data set and get the desired result. You will experience what the work of an analyst in a corporate environment actually looks like. The meeting will be in the form of a realistic process, where you will be given an analytical task and see how to approach the problem. This is a real corpo-process experience!

Who is this data analysis workshop for?

The workshop is aimed at women who:

  • are considering a career in data analysis or are at the beginning of their career path in this field.
  • are working as a Junior Analyst and want to learn how to avoid mistakes and gain practical tips.
  • want to understand what the data analysis process looks like in large organizations and how to work effectively with stakeholders.
  • communicate according to the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC).
  • can attend the workshop stationary.

What is the schedule?

Date: March 5 (Wednesday) – we are celebrating the upcoming Women’s Day!
Timeline:
17:15 – 17:30 – registration
17:30 – 19:00 – workshop (we start on time)
19:00 – 19:10 – summary and closing of the meeting
Venue: 14 Postępu St., Warsaw

Applications will be accepted until February 27 at 11:00 a.m. You will receive the results of the recruitment by email by February 28 at 11:59 p.m. Qualified applicants must confirm attendance within a few hours of receiving the information. Requirements to get started

Basic knowledge of Excel (preferably in English)

Alternatively: knowledge of Power BI (ability to import data from Excel, convert and process data, create basic visualizations: pie chart, column chart, bar chart)

Ability to create charts in Excel

Knowledge of basic Excel functions: vlookup, if, or, and, sum, pivot tables

Basic knowledge of mathematics (ratios, sums, averages, etc.).

Knowledge of English at a level to understand data analysis terms (e.g. pie chart, vlookup, sum)

Distance yourself – we will use real examples of what NOT to do

To participate in the workshop are necessary as below + we leave ourselves a ‘window’ for additional technical requirements, which we will let you know in advance.

Own laptop + charger (due to possible need to install software – access to administrator privileges)

Active Microsoft Office suite (desktop version, NOT Google Sheets)

Excel and/or Power BI (desktop version, preferably in English)

Web browser with Internet access

About the instructor

Ewa Krupa – dubbed “Data Science Hacker” by her boss!

A woman with more than 11 years of experience in the IT industry. She joined the ranks of computer geeks at a time when a woman in IT was a mythical creature from fairy tales. She has done everything from training and coaching to data and process analysis to business intelligence. She knows large corporations inside out, but has also tasted running her own company. She is currently taming Microsoft’s Power Platform. As Business Intelligence Lead, she introduces juniors to the world of corporate data and processes.

Privately – mother of 2 children, 1 cat and 1 horse. An avid skier. Fan of Big Bang Theory and crochet. She runs, jumps. Rarely sits still. Join us for a creative Women’s Day workshop with Ewa and the Girls Code Fun Foundation!
