About HackNation 2026
HackNation is 24 hours of intensive work on solutions to real-world challenges faced by government, cities, and public institutions. This year, participants will tackle 17 challenges set by 15 partners. The goal is to develop projects with the potential for further development and real-world implementation.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Digital Affairs – GovTech Poland Department, in cooperation with the City of Bydgoszcz.
Why do we support this initiative?
At Girls Code Fun, we believe technology has the greatest impact when it addresses real people’s needs. That’s why we support initiatives that encourage the practical use of digital skills, foster collaboration, and bring together people with diverse backgrounds and experience.
HackNation shows that innovation takes more than just programmers. It also needs people who can analyse problems, design solutions, and approach challenges from different perspectives.
Participation is free, but places are limited.
Each participant must register individually, including those joining as part of a team. Registration is open until all places are filled.
Who is it for?
HackNation is open to adults who want to use their knowledge, skills, and creativity to solve real-world problems.
The event welcomes programmers, AI and data science specialists, analysts, testers, UX/UI designers, students, and people with business and social expertise.
No previous hackathon experience is required. You can register individually or as part of a team of up to 6 people. Participants must be at least 18 years old and be citizens or residents of an EU member state.
